SCANCYPAA 2024 convention was first meant to be arranged at Hilton Kalastajatorppa, but after difficulties the plans changed. NOW the convention will be held at the Rudolf Steiner school in Ruskeasuo, Helsinki. Not that grandiose, we know, but still pretty exciting!!
Public transportation
The best way to arrive to the school is to take tram no 3, or bus no 40, 200, 300 or 400 from the Helsinki city centre. Get off at stop 'Tilkka', and walk for 5-10 minutes to Paraistentie 3. Please make sure that you navigate to this address, as the school has several locations, and Google Maps can navigate you to a wrong address.
Parking
If you are driving to the place, the exact address for the school is Rudolf Steiner -koulu, Paraistentie 3, 00280 Helsinki. There is lots if room and space in the school’s inner yard, so you can park your car there. If there is too much snow to park to the school yard, you can park to the side of the road on Paraistentie.
What is the place like?
Ruskeasuo area is a calm residential area, and it takes about 15 minutes to arrive from city center. It is next to the Helsinki central park, where you can find forest or horse stables.
The school is little and pretty, and will for sure bring up some memories for some of us. The school has a big lobby, a small café, several classrooms for meetings throughout the day and a big gym hall for the evening main meetings.
Unfortunately, the venue is not accessible, as there are some stairs to the classrooms and the gym hall.
